  • Make sure that you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, or use an Ethernet Cable

  • Close any unused programs

Quiet
  • Situate yourself in a private, quiet area, and turn off any ambient noise such as music, television, video games, or other noisy electronics.

  • Close the door to your room if there are others in your house.

  • Only allow another person with you in the room if you want them involved in your medical care.

  • Use earbuds or earphones to be able to hear your health care provider clearly, while keeping the microphone close to you.

Bright
  • Align the lighting in the room so that it shines on you. This will allow your health care provider a better view of your face and your eyes.

  • If you have a small flashlight, or telephone flashlight, have that near to you, in case your provider asks you to shine light on any problem areas.

  • If you have a thermometer, blood pressure cuff, glucose monitor, or any self-management diary (blood pressure log, temperature log, or blood sugar log), please have these available nearby so you are able to discuss with your provider.
